Michael Weinman's photography career began when he built a basement darkroom in his Long Island home as a 15 year-old. He had his first show at the University of Michigan Gallery following a 6-month stay in India sponsored by the Department of Anthropology.
After a 2 year try at establishing a photography career in New York City, Weinman earned his MD at NYU and completed an internal medicine residency at Columbia and a gastroenterology fellowship at Harvard. He joined his Savannah practice in 1988.
Weinman's camera has continued to accompany him on his world travels throughout his medical career. He enjoys devising ever more innovative ways to create digital images, changing the color or tone or inserting another image.
